NTX Waterfowl Frequently Asked Questions

What sets you apart from most outfitters?

Two things, in particular, set us apart from most. We cater to small groups, and if our clients do not limit out in the morning, we will do a second hunt in the afternoon.

Can I bring my hunting dog?

NO, while we understand that you would like to bring your “best friend” for the hunt. For liability reasons we do not allow this as some groups may be hunting with others.

Do you hunt the water?

Yes, North Texas Waterfowl has access to thousands of acres of private property. All hunts take place on private ponds and winter wheat fields.

What type of clothing should I wear?

We recommend a layering system with the outer shell being windproof and waterproof. Bring insulated hunting boots, and gloves that you can shoot with. We just want you to be prepared and comfortable in case of inclement weather conditions.

Do you get a lot of rain in the Fall?

Typically North Texas falls are bring moderate rains, with more frequent rains late season. BUT with the weather patterns lately all bets are off. If you don’t have waders, knee high rubber boots recommended.

What shot do you recommend for ducks and geese?

For ducks we recommend 3,  2, or BB. For geese we recommend BB, BBB, or T shot.

Do you sell ammunition?

We aren’t licensed to provide that service. Ammunition can be picked up at the local Academy, Wal Mart or local gun shops.
